Signature Appliance Center was founded by Jim & Linda McLain in 2003 to support and enhance their overall abilities in the kitchen design industry. Jim & Linda have been in the kitchen and bath industry since 1977. They felt that Charleston needed a high end knowledgeable supplier to help integrate appliances into complex modern designs.

In 2008, Signature Appliance Center moved into their new 20,000 sq. ft. facility which includes an 8,400 sq. ft. showroom which highlights appliances in full kitchen environments.

Kirsten Griffin joined the staff in 2009. Kirsten has a BA from Virginia Tech in Interior Design. She is involved in sales as well as ordering, inventory control, and invoicing. She handles most of the incoming customer service calls as well. She also has previous experience in kitchen, bath, and outdoor kitchen design.

Their son, Jeff McLain, a licensed electrical contractor, joined the appliance team in 2003. Jeff has over 20 years of experience in structured electrical wiring and systems installations including life, health, safety management systems. Jeff handles all special installation quotes and assists in all sales and management of the showroom and warehouse at 1826 Belgrade Avenue. Jeff has trained an elite team of appliance installers who provide full time installation service to builders, designers, and individuals seeking professional installation services.

Al Williams joined the firm in 2005 to head up sales and marketing. Al has over 20 years of experience in the appliance industry. He has helped assemble an array of products which spans the entire scope of what the appliance business has to offer. Al is one of the most knowledgeable salespeople in this field today. He has been extensively trained by each manufacturer of the products that we represent. Presently that includes over 98 brand name appliances.
